Two-footed shooting drill

TwoFooted Training drill

Hello! It's been a while, but we are back with a new drill!! This drill will turn your strikers into two-footed legends!

We should actually coach all team players to play with both feet, but let's be honest how many times do we do 2-footed drills in training?

All strikers need to know how to use both feet, though. I still laugh when I see a world class striker who can't use both feet. How is this player even considered world class if they only have one shooting foot? So, to eliminate this flaw from your strikers and their game, we have decided to share this drill. It is so easy and simple, but just like all the other 'simple' drills on this site if you practice this drill enough times, your strikers will be two-footed legends! Let's get straight to it!

STEP 1: Take 6 balls and set them up 3 on the left and 3 on the right, just outside the box. place a training cone in between the two inner balls a few feet up the pitch.(See image above for)

STEP 2: Player starts at the cone and runs either to the left or right, if they run to the left they must use their left foot, running right means using the right foot to shoot. Player runs to ball 1 and shoots, then the player must run back around the cone and run to ball 2 and shoot, then repeat for ball 3. Once all three balls have been kicked. The player runs around the cone and applies the same drill to the next 3 balls on the opposite side. Remember, balls on the left=left foot. Balls on the right-=right foot.

DRILL PRO's:

-Helps players strengthen shooting on the weaker foot.

-Builds stamina

-Strengthens shooting technique
