This drill is probably one of the most simple drills you will ever see, but when it comes to one touch passing this drill ticks all the boxes!
The one touch pass drill can be used by all age groups. So add this to your next training session. It's also a great way for you to strengthen your teams one touch skills.
STEP 1:
Separate your players into two lines facing each other, put a relative amount of space between the first players in each line to add some difficulty to this drill. In the middle of the open space place two cones, these are barrier lines in which players must pass the ball.
STEP 2:
Player A passes the ball to player B when the coach sounds the whistle. Player A then runs to the back of his line as the ball is passed to player B. Player B then return passes the ball to the next player on the opposite side. Like Player A, player B runs to the back of his line after he passes the ball. This pattern of play continues until the coach blows the whistle.
Drill PRO's:
- Strengthens the first touch.
- Helps player practice passing without controlling the ball before passing.
- Enhances player focus.
- Helps player technique with passing.
