Friday Fitness: Last man standing

Welcome to the Friday Fitness series. This series will be all about fitness drills that will grow your players fitness levels and get them sharp for the games ahead.
This drill is a golden oldie from the school yard. LAST MAN STANDING. Remember playing knock out games where there could only be one winner in the end?
Apart from the fitness aspect of this drill. It will sharpen your players senses and reaction time, and it will also breed a must win mentality throughout your team.
How it works:
Setup a 'square' using four training cones anywhere on the pitch. Place a ball in the middle of the square and get your players lined up at each cone. Once your player are ready sound the whistle, as quick as they can, the players must sprint to the ball in the middle The last player to reach the ball is out. The next round will consist of three players and the final round will be between the last two players left in the game.
